Scheduling

Please feel welcome to be in touch at heartofgoldpgh@gmail.com to inquire about Elizabeth’s availability for new clients. She has her hand in many projects and does her best to maintain a neurodivergent-paced balance of plenty of alone time + restorative occupations like: watching her garden grow, snuggling her sweet dog, visually stimming off of large pots of bone broth and dehydrated herbs from her garden on her stove and collecting local handcrafted bar soap and kombucha, while also supporting adults and families, disrupting neuro-normative healthcare practices collaboratively with her ND & Autistic neighbors, and mentoring the next generation of occupational therapists at a local university.

All clients need a doctor’s referral.

A doctor’s referral is required to begin occupational therapy with Elizabeth. Elizabeth cannot see you for occupational therapy without a referral. Please call/text 412-746-1200, or email heartofgoldpgh@gmail.com with any questions about getting a doctor’s referral.

Location of services.

Elizabeth provides services virtually (telehealth) and as home or community visits. Elizabeth primarily serves people in the Pittsburgh metro area. Elizabeth is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Washington states and has provided evaluations, school/home consultation, and caregiver coaching for families in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh including the surrounding areas of Philadelphia, Scranton, and Erie metro areas, and families in the Seattle/Puget Sound/King County area in Washington state. Elizabeth is occasionally able to visit in-person 1-2x per year for families not local to Pittsburgh, PA, but most non-local services take place virtually.

Children age 3 and older.

Elizabeth provides private-pay occupational therapy services for children ages 3 and older and children 0-3 who do not qualify for early intervention services. Services are billed at $120/hour. Sliding scale OT services with Elizabeth for children under 18 are not available at this time. Elizabeth maintains a very limited caseload of private-pay family clients due to her responsibilities as a faculty member in the occupational therapy department at Carlow University. Elizabeth is happy to provide referrals to like-minded colleagues for your family as needed.

Adults.

Elizabeth provides private-pay occupational therapy services for adults, primarily late-diagnosed Autistic and neurodivergent adults. The majority of these services are provided virtually along with occasional house calls and/or community visits. These services are provided at a significantly reduced cost due to the lack of available occupational therapists with lived Autistic experience who specialize in neurodiversity-affirming care. Details about reduced payment sessions for adults are available upon request – please call/text 412-746-1200 or email heartofgoldpgh@gmail.com to get in touch with Elizabeth directly. In addition, if you would like to support Elizabeth’s capacity to continue providing reduced payment sessions for adults, please feel welcome to buy her a coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/eshermanot.
